Continuing my very intermittent retrospective on artists I’ve found influential, I turn to Bright Eyes. Including “Read Music/Speak Spanish” which is by side-project The Desaparecidos, Brigth Eyes masterboy Connor Oberst was responsbile for five consecutive masterpieces. It is a string of great albums that has not been rivaled in the modern era. My favorite album is, which happens to be the most unique, in my opinion, is “Digital Ash in a Digital Urn,” which is the album that contains all the songs below. I really enjoy the songs from “I’m Wide Awake It’s Morning” live, in particular. “Lifted,” “Fevers and Mirrors,” all great.
